Increase Vertical
To improve or increase vertical jump can make all the difference in the world when it comes to the game of basketball. If you have a good vertical jump then you could go from that guy nobody sees to the guy that they all rely on to win the game. Basketball is a game all about the agility and stamina of the player but to get those things you need to do some prep work. You can’t just go out on the court expecting to be the best simply because you watch all the games during the season or know the players by heart. Like every part of your life you have to work to attain the goals you desire. If your desire is to increase vertical jumps then this is something you might want to read.
If you were to name one muscle group in the body that was the most responsible for how high you got off the ground it would no doubt be the calf muscles. Of course they can’t do it alone but they are the main players. So to get a jump you have to work at toning them along with the other muscles that have their back so to speak such as the quads and glutes. So to work your calves you can do a few things such as skipping to help you get a nice set. Skipping isn’t something that will be the first thing to come to mind when you think about working your leg muscles but that is only because you haven’t done it right. You can’t just skip along like a little school girl and expect anything to happen. You have to actually put some effort in it so that you can get the results that you need. When you hit your toes to the ground put some resistance there so that you spring right back up. If you do that for a while you will see a huge difference in how high you can get.
Jogging is also a great way to increase vertical as it will work at building up all of your muscles, not just the leg muscles. It can bring on a whole body transformation if you try hard enough. Just like all of these exercises it should be started in moderation so that you don’t overdo it and make yourself not like it anymore.
Something that should be mentioned is that before you do any exercises you should always stretch out first. That will help your muscles to be ready and awake for the workouts that you have for them. To help in stretching you can use a towel or something of that nature to add some resistance to your routine.
Jumping rope can also help to increase vertical as it will work your leg muscles just make sure that when you jump rope that you don’t just lazily go along. Add some speed and height to the jumps so that your calves are getting the most out of the workout.
To increase vertical doesn’t take fancy equipment but it does take drive and desire to get the results you are after.
