How to Jump Higher
Hello my fellow basketball enthusiasts. If you are like me, then your love for the game has led to your commitment of improving your skills. Whether it may be increasing your vertical leap, improving your handles, jump shot, or overall defense, the dedication required to be a successful basketball player is huge. However, with hard work, anything can be accomplished and your results will speak for themselves. Ofcourse there is one skill that requires the most dedication of all and will offer you the most benefits. The skill I am talking about is the ability to improve your vertical leap. Improving your vert can not only help you defend the taller players, grab more rebounds, make your inside game better, help you shoot over taller defenders, and ofcourse give those shorter guys the ability to slam dunk the ball.
A few years back, I could barely grace the rim with my fingers. I had a pretty good dribble, great lateral defense, and a sweet touch from beyond the arc. However, my shots would get blocked around the rim by the taller guys and needless to say, I would average about 1 to 2 rebounds a game on a good night. I knew that if I could jump higher, I could cause massive damage around the rim and help my team win with my added ability. So I began my research online for any helpful tips I could find on learning how to improve my vertical leap.
At first I found lots of primitive sites ran my amateurs with some basic leg workouts that didn't help out at all. I asked my coach for his advice but he was more concerned with me perfecting my outside shot than improving my vert. He prefered to work on those skills with his center and power forward. However, I knew that even as a point guard, increasing my vertical leap would help my game a lot so I continued my search.
After a few weeks of thorough research, I came across a couple of electronic guides online that promised to make a difference in my jumping ability. I decided to try all 3 products in hopes of getting 3 times the advice. I can honestly tell you that within 2 months, I was not only able to put the ball through the hoop with both hands, but I raised my rebounding avearge to 5.5rpg (which is a lot for a point guard) and was able to finally get my floater up above the tall guys in the paint. My team mates noticed a difference and even my coach was delighted to see how I took it upon myself to improve my vert and help the team out.
Below I have reviewed the training guides I used to increase my vertical leap by 6 inches in 2 months.
The Vertical Project
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Features:
The Vertical Project is the leading vert enhancement system available today which has helped thousands of athletes increase their jumping ability by atleast 6 inches in just 60 days time. It is a 400 page informative ebook broken down into an 8 to 15 week program designed by professional athletic trainer Luke Lowry. He takes you by the hand and guides you along the way through multiple exercise routines including state of the art plyometric routines and cutting edge isometrics. He also goes into details about proper fitness supplementation and weight training exercises used by the pros.
Pros and Cons:
You will be amazed to learn that most of the routines covered in this program do not require the use of a fitness gym and can be practiced right at home. However, it will certainly help if you have access to a weight training room or swimming pool as some of the workouts will require it. If you do not have access to either those, it is ok because the core of the program does not revolve around a gym or pool. One thing that will be important is your level of athletic fitness. It may be a challenging task to complete some of the more advanced workouts found in The Vertical Project if you are not in physical fitness shape. This program was designed for the serious basketball player who wants to improve his vertical leap in the shortest amount of time possible, not for the lazy couch potato.
Final Thoughts:
My coach and team mates were very impressed with the results I got from The Vertical Project. As for me, I cannot even begin to tell you the satisfaction I feel not only from having purchased this product but from actually giving it my all and completing the program. Within 60 days I was able to add 6 inches to my vertical leap while adding an extra 5 within the next 3 months for a total of 11 inches gained in less than 6 months.

The Jump Experts
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
While my choice of preference goes to The Vertical Project, The Jump Experts Program
has been helping young athletes increase their vertical jump for quite some time now. Since I was
determined to increase my vert, I decided to try this product out as well to see which one offered the most beneficial workouts and I must say this products was not bad at all.
Features:
What really stood out from The Jump Experts was how much information they were able to cram in just 400 pages. At times I felt a little overwhelmed with all the nutritional and supplementation facts offered, although most of the advice and tips were written by professionals with years of both NBA and NFL experience. In this program you will find mp3 audio and video files with over 7 hours of practical information. The workouts are broken down into 8 week programs catered to different types of athletes according to their body weight and mass while other programs focus more on weight training, plyometrics, isometrics, etc.
Pros and Cons:
You will notice how The Jump Experts offers an overload of information which can be both a good thing and bad thing depending on your level of athletic experience. If you are a newbie when it comes to fitness training and nutrition, then you may have to slow down a bit until you are able to fully absorb everything this program has to offer. However, if you are currently an active athlete, most of the things written in this book will make perfect sense and will serve you well.
Final Thoughts:
The Jump Experts vertical leap project is an excellent guide to help you increase your vertical leap and although not quite as popular as the The Vertical Leap, it still gets the job done if you put in the time.

Vertical Jump Bible
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Last but not least comes The Vertical Jump Bible which was by far the cheapest of the bunch although it packs enough information to keep you motivated in your training.
Features:
The Vertical Jump Bible is a 16 week exercise program which includes multiple plyometric and weight training routines. It is all crafted into an electronic 150 page book with loads of tips and secrets to increase your vert. It also comes with some rather interesting bonus ebooks which offers relative information on the matter as well.
Pros and Cons:
There are different levels of programs available in The Vertical Jump Bible designed for different types of athletes. As your level of physical fitness improves, you will be able to move on to some of the more advanced routines. Some of the programs require a membership to a local gym or fitness center where you can fully make use of the workout routines listed. However, if you prefer working out at home, there is a 12 week program focusing on body weight training which is just as useful.
Final Thoughts:
While TVP is by far the best program available for learning how to increase your vert, The Vertical Leap Bible is a solid ebook with enough workouts and bonuses to keep you busy for a while. And while I considered it to be the 3rd best vertical improvement program on the internet, it is light years beyond the mediocre books sold in most stores which I would urge you to stay away from. Good luck!
